Replica of the "Resurgam" at Woodside, Birkenhead. "Resurgam" was the first successful engine-powered submarine, lost off North Wales in 1880. The wreck lay undisturbed and intact until sometime in the 1990s when it is thought to have been struck by a large ship. |
